With 4,700 membership units, Hockessin Athletic Club (HAC) is one of the largest fitness facilities on the east coast. They were looking for a way to bridge the gap between their large-scale, free group exercise classes and their one-on-one, fee-based personal training. TRX small group training turned out to be a perfect solution, selling out 15 classes a week and recouping their initial investment within the first month of launch.
Incorporate fee-based, small-scale group training in order to meet underserved members and drive non-dues revenue in their facility. HAC had a significant contingent of members who were intimidated by weight rooms and big group classes or didn’t feel like investing in a personal trainer. They decided to use TRX Group Suspension Training to get people engaged and excited about their fitness.
HAC sent their staff to a TRX Suspension Training Course and purchased enough TRX Suspension Trainers and TRX MultiMounts to have six to seven participants per class. HAC staff incorporated Suspension Training into their small group programming.
HAC recouped their initial investment and turned a profit with TRX classes after the first month. Eight months after introducing TRX classes, they began selling out up to 22 classes per week and decided to expand their potential volume with an outdoor TRX Training Zone to accommodate 12 to 15 participants per class. Members also noted immeasurable improvements in their quality of life and camaraderie with other members.
