Alas! It’s the first day of fall. The leaves are changing, sweater weather is approaching, football season is upon us, and we’re all craving Pumpkin flavored everything, or at least that’s what the grocery stores and cafes are trying to tell us…
Pumpkin cookies, pie, and lattes, oh my!
The Pumpkin Spice Latte: a crowd favorite.
What a lot of us don’t realize is that a Pumpkin Spice Latte from your favorite cafe is loaded with sugar and syrups which are not good for our bodies OR our minds.
With fall and pumpkin on the mind, we thought it was time to give this seasonal favorite a slight makeover to incorporate some healthier ingredients so we can feel even better drinking those Pumpkin Spice Lattes.
Check out the below recipe you can add to your coffee to make a real, and healthier version of a Pumpkin Spice Latte.
- Full fat coconut milk (in a can)
- 1 tbs 100% pure maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Dash of Pumpkin Pie Spice
- Dash of cinnamon
- Open the can of coconut milk, drain all liquid
- Scoop out the "solid" cream that is left
- Add to a bowl, mix in maple syrup, vanilla extract and whip
- Add a dash of pumpkin pie spice and cinnamon to top it off
