Who doesn’t like a good smoothie to get the day started?

 

Here’s the deal though.

 

Smoothies can chock full of nutrition or can be sugar bombs that will completely cause your energy to tank and your body to follow suit.

 

Today I wanted to share 3 of my favorite smoothies to start my day (or any time I need a quick bit of energy).

 

Simple, yet tasty and full of the nutrition your body needs.

 

The key is balancing nutrition, with protein and keeping sugar to a minimum.  Instead, sweeten it with fresh or frozen fruit and as you’ll see, you can even add some veggies and coffee.  Try these out and let us know what you think!

 

 

CHOCOLATE PEANUT BUTTER PROTEIN SHOOTER

1 tablespoon natural peanut butter

1 serving chocolate whey protein powder

1/2 frozen banana

1 tablespoon Raw Cacao Powder

1 cup unsweetened chocolate almond milk

1 cup ice cubes

 

DIRECTIONS

Peel banana before placing in the freezer. Freeze overnight.

Mix all ingredients in blender, blend on high.

Add water and/or ice (if necessary) to reach desired consistency.

 

 

 

 

VERY CHERRY BERRY VITALITY SMOOTHIE

1 cup frozen dark cherries

1/2 cup frozen blueberries

1 serving vanilla whey protein powder

1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

1 handful fresh spinach

 

DIRECTIONS

Mix all ingredients in blender, blend on high.

Add water and/or ice (if necessary) to reach desired consistency.

 

 

 

 

CHOCO COFFEE JUMPSTART

2 tablespoons Raw Cacao Powder

1-2 tablespoons instant coffee

1 serving chocolate whey protein powder

1 cup unsweetened chocolate almond milk

1 tablespoon cashews

1 cup ice

 

DIRECTIONS

Mix all ingredients in blender, blend on high until smooth.

Add water and/or ice to reach desired consistency.
