TRX Training Tip from USA Water Polo Team

In these balmy holiday months, few people think of slipping into a swimsuit and hoping into a pool, but for the USA Water Polo Team, training is a year-round commitment, and TRX is there with them in good weather or bad. Few sports are as unique and physically demanding as water polo, especially on an Olympic level. As the Team is gearing up for the 2012 Olympic Games in London, England, TRX has been an integral part of their training. Here are a few tips from team trainer Shannon Walker and team physician Dr. Marcia Whalen to help keep you ready for that Speedo come summer.

Walker's #1 tip for making time for exercise during the holidays? Accountability. "Schedules change around the holiday season, making it difficult to keep your workout routine," says Walker. "I suggest working out with a partner or at least designating someone to report your workouts to. The accountability created from simple peer pressure may help you prioritize your workouts, despite the chaos of the season."

Even if you're finding time to workout, you can sabatoge your good intentions by eating too many holiday sweets and treats. So Whalen offers this advice: "If you lose all willpower and indulge in a decadent holiday treat, try to make it homemade; it's less processed that way. Then be sure to make your next meal extremely healthy!"

In the video above, chiropractor Kyle Knox demonstrates different TRX Training techniques he uses with the both the Men's and Women's National Teams.
