Almost exactly one year ago, the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team endured heartbreak. In the Women’s World Cup Final against Japan, the U.S. twice gave up the lead -- once in regulation, and then again in extra time -- sending their fate into the high-pressure situation of penalty kicks.
In the end, fate wasn’t in their favor.
But in two weeks time, the score is reset to 0-0. The results of the World Cup carry no weight in London. In fact it is here where this U.S. team reigns, having brought home gold in both 2004 and 2008. They are the team to beat.
All three TRX-sponsored players are veterans of the rings; defender Heather Mitts and midfielder Heather O’Reilly competed in both Beijing and Athens, and young forward Lauren Cheney made her debut in Beijing. All three continue to train their core, upper body and lower body with the TRX Suspension Trainer, at home and especially when traveling. “I love the TRX Suspension Trainer because of how easy it is to travel with. I never have to worry about having a gym nearby. We can set the TRX up in the training room or even to the door in my hotel room and get extra core and rehab exercises done,” said Cheney.
And all three will once again take the pitch to not just defend their title, but to also take back what they lost last year.
Be sure to watch as the team kicks off the first round against France on July 25 at 9 a.m. PT, and begins its campaign back to the podium of Champions.
