Cycling is a seasonal sport, but cycling training is a year-round pursuit.

Dan McDonogh, TRX Senior Master Instructor and International Fitness Presenter, has been coaching professional and recreational cyclists for decades, and he’s designed the perfect cross-training programs to improve cycling performance in the off-season.

Want to stay ready-to-ride? Try one—or both—of Dan’s off-season programs.

(If you’re brand-new to Dan’s methods, you can learn more about his recommended pre-ride warmup performance program here.)

Dan’s first program has two weekly workouts for the casual cyclist—someone who rides for fun or only competes a couple of times each year. The second program outlines three weekly workouts—perfect for the cyclist who races regularly and wants to beat their personal records. Each workout includes a 3-5 minute dynamic warmup, followed by 5 exercises or combos to be performed in circuit-style repetition.
